What Classifies A New Customer?

I have run the Sales Analysis - New / Existing Customers report for six months and some customers show as both New and Existing, why?

Solution

The logic for this report ( Custsa40sc or Custsa40sd ) is that the Customer is considered New for any sales made within the first month of their customer record being added to the system.  After a calendar month the customer is considered an Existing customer.

This is why they may show in both areas depending on the number of sales and the date range.

A new addition to this report in 8.525 sees the addition of # Days for New Customer.  If left alone it will default to 30 days, but a different figure can now be added.
