To process an Insurance Job create one against the Customer and select the OPE item the job relates to.
Set the Job Type to Warranty – Parts and Labour Only. This will display at the bottom of the Job screen a section titled On Charge Warranty to. The Customer account number for the Insurance company needs to be entered here.
On the Job add all of the Labour and parts to the job as per normal. When you are ready to invoice the job add two Insurance code lines:
- IE with a QTY of 1 and a Rate to match the Insurance Excess
- LIE with a QTY of -1 and a Rate to match the Insurance Excess
Selecting Invoice now will create two invoices - one for the Insurance Company with all costs less the Excess contribution and a second invoice for the Customer for the Insurance Excess
The value of the Job remains the same with the income split over the two invoices
When reviewing sales analysis the Customer's invoice will show at 100% profit and the Insurance company invoice will show with a reduced margin.
Both invoices are created on the same date so the sales analysis for the day will be accurate as both are generated as Job invoices.
All history remains against the one Job and the original OPE Item.
