On occassion it may be that more cash is given out as a refund than what is receipted in during a day.
If this occur, when doing the Cash Up enter the refund as a negative cheque.
This will allow the Cashup to be completed without a change to the float or a variance.
Because we no longer have to visit the bank daily to deposit cash, it is often the case that the cash is kept until there is enough to visit the bank. Pay the float back the amount that has been refunded.
When the bank deposit is prepared, it will show both the positive and the negative amounts, leaving you with the balance that is on hand.
