Backups on the Infusion Hosted Servers

There is an automatic archiving of Infusion backups in the Infusion Hosted servers.  Overnight all new Infusion backups are moved to a storage location and a symbolic link (this appears to the user as a shortcut) is created. It is recorded as Type .symlink

This link can be used as usual to open, copy and restore the backup from this shortcut, as if it was the file itself. However, it allows the saving of space on the Server.

• The file location of the actual archived backups can be found at: \\ad.infusionsoftware.co.nz\dfs\archive
•  The user is left with a .symlink shortcut to the file
• If a backup is restored, the restoration process will move the backup off the archive and back into the original location (the place where the .symlink shortcut was) this backup will be then moved back onto the archive overnight, along with all new backups
• Currently backups are identified as any file that starts with IBS and ends with .zip
