After installing Infusion and run MYOB Payroll which uses VFP the following error occurs:
“Resource file version mismatch.
Microsoft Visual FoxPro
Visual FoxPro cannot start. Could not load resources.”
Cause : MYOB is installing the following out of date VFP system file(s) to incorrect folder ie.
Vfp9r.dll
Vfp9t.dll
VFP9RENU.dll
Solution
If the client has MYOB Payroll\Commacc installed (or any other software using VFP) and the above files are in the Windows\system32, (or SysWOW64)
before or after the install of Infusion copy the following files to a temp folder from Windows\system32. (just in case they need to be copied back)
Vfp9r.dll
Vfp9t.dll
VFP9RENU.dll
Delete the above files from Windows\system32 as they should not be there.
Copy the above files from the temp folder and put in the MYOB Payroll folder (their install defaults to C:\Payrolv) where the Commacc.exe file is.
Notes:
This may be an ongoing problem if clients are going to upgrade MYOB or any other companies software again and again.
Make sure Infusion install is the last Install.
The latest VFP9 SP2 will run VFP9.0 and VFP9.0 SP1 applications.
MYOB should be contacted to inform them of the recommend places to Install VFP9 to stop interfering with other companies software installations which is next to the Application in their application folder and in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\VFP folder. Note (not overwriting any newer files) since Infusion VFP is putting the latest in this folder MYOB should not be overwriting them and not placing them in Windows\system32 folder.
