Scenario: End User appears to be accessing data (from INFDATA) that isn't current while other users are using current data. This is causing the audit and link numbers as well as the invoice numbers get used again.
Resolution: IT support needs to check user's computer and make sure the Offline Settings option "No files or programs from the shared folder are available offline" under the Sharing and Security / Sharing / Caching menu is selected.
Notes for what has previously happened on a users network:
By default, when the network share to Infusion on the server was created the potential to cache the files offline was allowed (the top option in the attachment). The attachment shows the option to select to prevent this from ever occurring. This could have impacted any client at any time otherwise, and the following steps explain how.
On the client PC the drive was mapped. For some reason the option to make the files available in offline mode was ticked. This allowed the client PC to use some of the Infusion files locally instead of always using the server’s files.
No other client PC had this ticked so it was not an issue for them. But could have been if this had been accidentally ticked.
By changing the settings as shown in the attachment this issue would not arise.
After changing the settings on the server the client needed to be rebooted to stop caching the files.
Also worth checking the SMB2 settings.
