There are several reasons why a document may preview correctly, but when turned into a PDF it is missing some information.
Scenario 1
One the field in the report may be too small. When turned into a PDF, it needs more space to display the information. This is commonly seen with the Order Number, Payment Details or a Reference.
The solution is to have Support or your Partner extend the field on the layout slightly.
Scenario 2
The Company Name is previewing on all documents but not displaying the first line on all PDF's
In the preview screen, open the Configuration Option and under the PDF Tab, untick Render pages as images.
Once that is done, the first line will show up correctly.
Scenario 3
Notes may not display correctly on the PDF attachments – invoices, job cards etc – if those notes have been copied into a note field from a Word document or other source.
This may because there are embedded special characters such a TAB strokes which do not get rendered correctly into the PDF.
Sample text:
Room 1
To supply and install new flooring
Design "CB - Deep Green"
To supply and install new 10mm/90kg underlay
To supply and install new smoothedge
Total Price (Incl GST) $1200.00
This is the same text with the formatting visible:
The tabs on the final line of the notes may cause that line to wrap onto a second line and/or
the amount to not appear at all on the PDF document.
Always type in the notes directly, or view the pasted notes in Word with the formatting symbols visible. In the above sample the tabs should be removed and spaces used instead.
