We have run our GST Summary and GST Audit reports and the totals are different. What could have caused this to happen?
The difference is likely to be rounding. The Summary asks for the totals to be multiplied to calculate the GST. So when there are many transactions the sum of the GST of each transaction is not the same as the GST of the sum of the total amount.
So check the detail report in full. It will help to send the report to Excel to do this.
- Can you see if the totals on the summary are correct?
- Was there Customs GST Paid
- Can you see any odd line that have incorrect GST?
