When a Cash Drawer is Balanced, the BANKING entries that are waiting to be deposited, and the financial journal which reflects the un-deposited funds being shifted to the Bank Account, will be dated as per the entry by the user.
The Cash Drawer values or BANKING entries will be sitting in Cashbook / Prepare Bank Deposits.
Tag the Deposit and process through to the Bank Reconciliation.
From the Bank Reconciliation screen create a NEW RECEIPT (a negative receipt). Ensure the Date is the same, but the Method should be Direct to Bank.
The value of the receipt will be the same as the original receipt but ensure it is a negative value.
Use the "un-deposited bankings" GL account as the contra or G/L ID for the receipt.
In the Bank Reconciliation create a second NEW RECEIPT (a positive receipt). Ensure the Method and value are the same as the original receipt.
The date of the receipt needs to be entered as at the correct date.
Again, use the "un-deposited bankings" GL account as the contra or G/L ID for the receipt.
All of the transactions will now be sitting on the Bank Reconciliation ready to be processed showing the correct dates.
