When a Cash Drawer is Balanced, the BANKING entries that are waiting to be deposited, and the financial journal which reflects the un-deposited funds being shifted to the Bank Account, will be dated as per the entry by the user.
The Cash Drawer values or BANKING entries will be sitting in Cashbook / Prepare Bank Deposits.
Tag the Deposit and process through to the Bank Reconciliation.
From the Bank Reconciliation screen create a NEW RECEIPT (a negative receipt). Ensure the Date and Method are the same as the original transaction.
The value of the receipt will be the same as the original receipt but ensure it is a negative value.
Use the "un-deposited bankings" GL account as the contra or G/L ID for the receipt.
This negative receipt will be sitting in Prepare Bank Deposit. Tag this receipt and process through to the Bank Reconciliation.
It is also possible to deposit the BANKING and the negative BANKING to create a zero deposit
In the Bank Reconciliation create a second NEW RECEIPT (a positive receipt). Ensure the Method and value are the same as the original receipt.
The date of the receipt needs to be entered as at the correct date.
Again, use the "un-deposited bankings" GL account as the contra or G/L ID for the receipt.
This receipt will be sitting in Prepare Bank Deposit.
When you go into Prepare Bank Deposit the Banking Date will be the date of the correct transaction.
Tag and process the Receipt through to the Bank Reconciliation.
All of the transactions will now be sitting on the Bank Reconciliation ready to be processed.
